Ok, so just when I didn't think the food police and the Nanny State could get any wierder, the California legislature proved me wrong. Apparently, the California Air Resources Board figures that the climate control systems of dark colored cars need to work harder than their lighter siblings – especially after sitting in the sun for a few hours. So, in a move to reduce the energy use, the black car ban would be phased in starting in 2012.

Obama's "Prompter Stare," an Anchorman Redux
President Barrack Obama's dependence on his faithful teleprompter finally caught up with him yesterday. It seems that during a St. Patrick's Day event at the White House yesterday, Irish Prime Minister Brian Cowen reads word for word a speech that Obama had just read from a teleprompter, while the president apparently thanked himself for the invitation.

I couldn't help but think about the movie "Anchorman" where newsreader Ron Burgundy's teleprompter is sabotaged by the female co-anchor. Since Burgundy will read anything in front of him, instead of his trademark "Stay Classy, San Diego" he reads a profane line and doesn't even realize it.
It seems our president suffers from the same problem. While President Obama may be a good READER, he is not a good COMMUNICATOR. There is a difference. A communicator relates to his audience,makes eye contact and knows what he is saying.
Plenty of jokes have been circulated about how the president takes his 'prompter with him everywhere he goes. He might be better off just leaving it at home.
